Stop buying those expensive cleaners and stop scrubbing your poor jewelry! This cleaner is gentle on your jewels and yes, it actually works. All you need is 4 ingredients: water, vinegar, baking soda and salt. You’ll get sparkling results without scrubbing, and you can finally wear your favorite jewelry again that was once tarnished.
What You’ll Need:
flat pan covered in foil with the shiny side up
1 cup boiling water
1/2 cup white vinegar
1 tablespoon baking soda
1 tablespoon salt
Get your ingredients together and line your pan with foil (shiny side up). Lay out the jewelry you’d like to clean with each part of it touching the foil. This method is great for cleaning silver and gold jewelry, but I wouldn’t suggest using this cleaner for stones, pearls or precious gems, I’m not sure what the reaction would be and I would not risk it.
Mix your boiling water, salt, and baking soda together. Then slowly pour the mixture into the foil lined pan. Slowly add the 1/2 cup of vinegar and watch it do its magic!
Let your cleaner sit for 5-10 minutes. If necessary, use a spoon to stir the salt and baking soda, and to evenly distribute the jewelry.
Rinse in water and dry.
