What if I told you that you could make your own makeup at home? Seems too good to be true! But it’s for real, and I actually prefer it to the store-bought makeup I’ve purchased in the past! You might need to go to your local health food store to get a few of these ingredients, but seriously you will not regret it. Check out how Amy from A Blossoming Life made her own natural eyeliner/eyeshadow, bronzer, mascara, blush and foundation, and you can too!

Homemade Super Simple Natural Eyeliner (& Eyeshadow)

What you’ll need:
4 capsules activated charcoal
A few drops of distilled water
Empty eyeshadow tin

Directions: In a small container place 4 capsule of activated charcoal. Add a 2 drops of water and stir, continue to add water a drop or two at a time and stir until the charcoal starts to clump. Slowly add the mixture to an empty and clean eyeshadow tin and press down with your fingers until smooth. This next step is totally optional, but to make it smoother on top I took a large spoon and rubbed it against the top pressing down. I really only did this to take a nicer picture :).

DIY Homemade Bronzer

What you’ll need:
Arrowroot powder or organic cornstarch
Cocoa powder
Beet powder (optional)

Directions: Start with 1 Tbs of cornstarch or arrowroot powder and then mix in small amounts of the other ingredients until your desired color is achieved.

Homemade Natural Mascara

What you’ll need:
1 tsp coconut oil
1 tsp shea butter
1 1/2 tsp bees wax
4 tsp of aloe vera gel
1-2 capsules of activated charcoal (I found this at my local Vitamin World)

Directions: In a small saucepan or mini sauce crockpot place first 4 ingredients and heat until completely melted. Mix in activated charcoal and remove from the heat. Place mixture in a plastic bag, allow to cool a bit, and move contents to one corner of the bag. Cut a small hole at the corner, insert into empty sterilized mascara tube like this one, and gently squeeze mascara into tube. It will be much easier if you have a second pair of hands to help.

Homemade Blush

What you’ll need:
Arrowroot powder or organic corn starch
Beet root powder

Directions: Depending on how bright pink you want your blush will depend on how much beet root powder you use. I use about 2 parts beet root powder to 1 part cornstarch. If you want to add more depth or make it darker add a little cocoa powder!

Directions: Start with 1 tbs arrowroot powder or corn starch and add in 2 tbs beet root powder. Mix in a small bowl making sure to break apart any clumps. Adjust color to your liking! Done!

Homemade Natural Power Foundation

What you’ll need:
Arrowroot powder or cornstarch: this is a must for every skin type! Gives you that flawless look!
Cocoa powder: darkens and adds richness. I use a little bit of this even though I am super pasty white!
Cinnamon: same as coco powder
Ginger: if you have yellow pigments in your skin like mwah!
French green clay (or wheat grass powder): this is works great for people with more red pigments in the skin. Green cancels red!
Bentonite clay: totally optional but has great benefits for your skin.

Directions: In a small nonmetallic bowl add about 1 Tbs cornstarch. Depending on the color of your skin, start mixing in small amounts of the other ingredients until you get your perfect match. To figure out if you matched your skin tone just dip your finger in the powder, rub on the back of your hand, and go outside to see if it blends. If it doesn’t then add more ingredients and try again. Place in a clean jar.
