Growing up my brother and I made salt dough ornaments every holiday season. My mom had a tree set up in our family room that was just for displaying our handmade ornaments. It was so magical!
My favorite part about making salt dough ornaments was actually making the dough. It’s so easy and you only need to combine a few ingredients. My mom always let us make it while carefully observing us.
This is also such a great sensory project for little ones.
1 cup of salt
1 cup of flour
1/2 cup of water
Combine ingredients in a large bowl, roll out your dough and use cookie cutters or whatever you would like to create your ornaments. Make sure to put a small hole at the top of your ornaments before baking so you can hang it. Then, put your handmade ornaments in the oven for two hours at 200 degrees.
Enjoy for years to come!
You work too hard for your money to throw it all away on full price when you don't have to!
