Those who updated their Instagram app on Wednesday may have noticed a BIG change to their app logo and interface. The brand’s iconic polaroid camera inspired icon was replaced by a 2D rainbow camera-type image. Naturally, the internet went wild with their opinions.

It was “beginning to feel, well… not reflective of the community, and we thought we could make it better,” Ian Spalter, head of design at Instagram said in a post explaining the change.
Instagram also changed its interface in an effort to put “more focus on photos and videos”, which seems to be getting a more positive reception from fans.
